HID dimming and non-dimming ballasts Over the past four years, ECT’s engineering team has developed the most advanced and affordable electronic ballasts for high-intensity gas discharge (HID) lamps. Our ballasts drive HID lamps with a low frequency square wave for a dependable operation. ECT’s ballasts do not drive HID lamps with a high frequency. High- frequency-driven HID lamps are known to create acoustic resonance, which may cause visual annoyance, lamp cycling, shorten lamp life, and, in extreme cases, result in arc tube explosion. ECT’s ballasts are more technologically advanced. They also fit into existing indoor and outdoor light fixtures. The following is a summary of ECT’s HID ballast advantages:
ECT’s HID electronic ballast line consists of 20W through 400W ballasts, for high-pressure sodium as well as pulse-start quartz and ceramic metal halide lamps. The primary benefits of our ballasts are that they:
These benefits translate to an average of $50 savings in operating costs, and a reduction of 750 pounds in greenhouse gases per year per luminaire. In new installations, average payback can be as little as 6 months, with significant ongoing cash flow each year afterward. The following links are for summary specifications for 150W and 250W non-dimming ballasts: LF/220/150W/HPS-S56/MH-PS and LF/220/250W/HPS/MH-PS . Contact ECT for other Ballast specifications. Dimming and Control ECT’s ballasts can be dimmed down to 50%, continuously and as well as in steps. Our ballasts accepts industry standard dimming controls: 0-10V analog control and digital controls such as DALI. The digital control input also provide option to interface with a transreceiver for wireless communications. In addition, where Only a maximum and a fixed intermediate light level is required, dimming can be accomplished by the use of an inexpensive manual switch. Our ballasts can also be turned on and off by a low voltage photo-control device. For detailed information on dimming contact ECT. Future products We are applying our patented technology to market other energy conserving products, such as, dimming electronic ballasts for fluorescent lamps, state-of-the-art power supplies for clustered light emitting diode (LED), and inverters for solar panels and wind generators. During the second quarter of 2009, we plan to introduce in the marketplace the following products:
